1point3 TV

So, we have begun pre--pre-preproduction 1point3 TV which will be a Video Podcast. There are so many different sides to us, we decided that we'll show them all. The music of 1point3 is harsh, noisy and pist off, much like several an ex-girl friends of mine. But the music is only one side. Furthermore, the harsh, noisy and pist off music is only one side. With 1point3 TV we'll be able so include many different aspects of what we individually create away from the band, then see how it works together in the confines of video.

The each episode is just a train of thought. Perhaps like this drawing:

Humor is a very important part of our lives - we have to laugh like little school girls who just discovered their first period. Perhaps it's a nervous laugh, but it's laughter.

I think our drummer Chad put it best, when I mentioned 1point3 TV. Chad said "That's pretty cool." Chad, I totally agree.

Our goal with 1point3 TV to have fun, make people laugh, make people cringe and hopefully not take it too seriously.

Time is running out for me - and I love it.

1point3 is not just about being pist off with our amps turned up so loud you can't hear the music (even though that is a huge part of 1point3, like 87%) - 1point3 is about never giving up - but if you do just so happen to give up, make sure no one knows and that you have a fresh pair of socks on. Because, fresh socks can make a horrible day A-OK.

Skot Free has new socks. Do you?

We're playing Jan. 13th 2006 in Cleveland Ohio, at Pats in the Flats with Skeleton Witch. It will be a heavy show.

New Year's Eve LHC

New Year's Eve Eve

New Year's Eve started the night before with Chad (the Drummer) and I going out and getting wasted, watching Skot (the bass player) other band - called Lo-Pan.

We head to Rudy Tuesdays in Columbus Ohio and got trashed. We figured we'd get as hung over as possible, seeing how we had to record the next day at noon and then play a gig at 1am. Fuck. Good times.

Trashed. We got trashed. From what I remember Lo-Pan was Ok - but a band from Youngstown called Lo-Divide, damn. Heavy Stuff. That's all I can say, heavy. JHM closed the night, and rocked it. They sounded like old SST stuff. Jamming out grooves, not giving a shit. Pretty cool stuff, check them out here: JHM.

Trashed. So Chad and I head back to the 1point3 house, tucked each other into bed, and fell asleep. It was a good night, I think I remember.

New Year's Eve

"You're pretty." Skot said to his omelet and the waitress in a single sentence.

It was in fact a good-looking omellete and the waitress was really something you could sink you teeth into (Hey oh!!). We sat there at the Blue Danube at 10 O’clock in the morning, the entire band together - very early - eating omellets - that were very pretty. God they were pretty. I suppose if you could taste the color pretty it would taste like the color Violet with hints of pink. But our omellets were yellow, with hints of meat.

We were rather surprised not to be as hung over as we thought we would be, which is good because we had to record our set. Every band playing the gig tonight was recording at the practice space / studio - and Brian Samakis was the man to do it. Hard. From Noon-6. What a guy.

So we paid our billed and headed to the studio. We jammed through our set then recorded. It went smooth. The only problem was my vocals. I haven't been able to sing for about a month - on account I've been going through Mono and Lupus. Fucking Lupus. Skot held up the vocals rather well.

The Husher, Ho-ag, and Salvage then recorded. From what I heard from the rough mixes, everything came out really well for live recordings. I guess these songs are being used for an LHC compilation.

Fuck. We loaded are gear and headed to the Ravari Room for the gig. I hooked up with some painkillers and bought a cherry bomb. The night started right.

Salvage went on at 10pm ---

Salvage played a tight set. These guys have been around for over five and this is the best they've ever sounds. They're sound is mix of Nivana (era bleach), Voivod, Celtic Frost and Blag Flag. Strong song writing and awesome lyrics.

The Husher went on at 11pm -

The Husher. Damn. They have some problems in the past year, but the past 2 months they have been on. They have managed to created an complete sonic atmosphere that they take everywhere they go. They can change peoples moods in a heart beat. You just have to listen to them. They are on top of their game now. Skot from 1point3 sat in on one song and did some "Road House" samples. Seriously, Road House samples.

Ho-Ag went on at midNight

Ho-ag is a mix between an evil Devo and your cousin Rick that will not stop dancing in his bed room when you come over to visit. And when you go up to cousin Rick's room, you peak in and see a guy throwing electronic equipment at the wall while he listens to Flipper and Discovery Channel. Really, Ho-Ag is that good.

1point3 closed the night.

We rocked it.

The night closed out. We got hammered and some other stuff happened. I don't have any pictures and the stories are filtering in.
